Welcome site updated 7 Nov 2012
As this site grows I hope to show the development of the post within the county of Lanarkshire from the earliest times up to the end of the 20th century. This will take time but I hope it will be a source of reference for other collectors and will show the different material which can be included in an inland county postal history collection. All items illustrated will be from my collection or from the proof books unless otherwise noted. The illustrations on this page are from the handout from my display "The Postal History of Lanarkshire from 1840"

About me
A Bruce Auckland presenting me (on the right) with the A Bruce Auckland Centennial Quaich at the Scottish Congress in 1995 I have been collecting stamps for over 50 years and postal history for over 30 years during that time I have had many collecting interests, my main interests are currently Lanarkshire Postal History, Machine Cancellations of Scotland and Jamaican Postmarks. I can present 2 different displays of 160 to 200 sheets, depending on your display boards, to clubs in Scotland. The Development of the Lanarkshire Post - showing material from the earliest times up to the beginning of the 20th Century. The Postal History of Lanarkshire from 1840 - showing material from the postal reforms of 1839/40 through to modern times.
