1840 entire letter to Battle with Uckfield datestamp on reverse and with the scarce village type MAYFIELD/PENNY POST as Willcocks SX866 but measuring 33 x 15 mm and also two years earlier than recorded.

1841 outer wrapper no letter with "PAID/at/LEEDS" and UPP "1d" in red on front, with date stamps of Leeds, Newcastle-on-Tyne and York on reverse. Image

1843 outer wrapper to York with a fine 1d red SG8 lettered QH from plate 28 with the variety "scratch through POSTAGE", the cover also has a strike of the very scarce village type "West Burton/Penny Post"  handstamp. A Rare combination of stamp and postmark. This IS one which is probably unique!!!!

1843 a letter from London to Brighton, the letter has been opened then refolded and sent to Farnham where the FARNHAM defaced Mileage was applied Willcocks 295. A little toned at the edges but an interesting item.

1856 an entire letter  London to Peru manuscript "Pr Packet" with London PAID datestamp for 2nd February and a postal rate of "4/-". This letter would have been carried by R.M.S. Tay from Southampton on 9th Feb, arriving at Buenos Aires on 21 March, then sent overland to Peru. A nice trans Atlantic cover.

1846 front with one flap only with fine 1d rd SG 8 cancelled by the barred 838 obliterator and having the fine village type "Southwold/Penny Post" handstamp on front. Very attractive front.
